AGAPE ARTS is a music and creative arts school in the heart of Camden, NSW, comprised of AGAPE Music and AGAPE Creative.
AGAPE Music started 20 years ago with Heather Bieman teaching piano and has now developed into a school with piano, guitar and voice lessons and eight tutors! From humble beginnings and a big dream, AGAPE has grown into Camden's premier piano school and the home of a dynamic, exciting performing and creative arts training community.
Piano students are taught on good quality acoustic pianos maintained and regularly tuned by James Patmore of Piano Direction. We even have a beautiful Yamaha grand piano, for student performances and some lessons! We have a wide range of music books which students may borrow for a small fee. New books and legal digital sheet music downloads can be purchased by Agape and paid for by parents.
AGAPE Creative began in 2022. We offer a drum circle class and a small paper tole class for adults. Perhaps this is your year to try something different!

AGAPE ARTS operates under Camden Uniting Church and runs lessons and classes from the church premises. We are an inclusive organisation that welcomes all students!

Paper Tole Classes
The art of handcrafting 3D pictures from flat prints.
You will learn how to skillfully cut, shape, and assemble pieces of paper from a set of identical prints, layering them onto a base picture to create a 3D version of the original.
Suitable for all levels.

Heather Bieman OAM
Heather has a Bachelor of Music and Dip. Ed. from Auckland University & ATCL in piano studies from Trinity College London. She is primarily a classical musician but loves teaching a variety of styles to her students.
Flute, Saxophone & Clarinet tutor
Aaron Smart
Aaron has over 40 years of teaching experience at all levels & regularly assists school students with exam preparation.
He has extensive performance experience including Royal Albert Hall, Edinburgh Festival & Sydney Opera House.
He has obtained obtained his Performer's Degree from the Royal College of Music.
Piano tutor
Angelina Buakao
Angelina achieved a distinction award in her Grade 8 Con Brio exam in 2023. She gained a band 6 HSC music in 2024. She is now studying for a Bachelor of Education at UNSW Sydney.
Piano and guitar tutor
Kathy Gramelis
Kathy attended Elderslie High school where music was one of her top subjects. She studied music for her HSC in 2024. She is now studying for a Bachelor of Education at University of Western Sydney, majoring in music. She is planning on becoming a high school music teacher.
Guitar tutor
Maxwell Buakao
Max started young at AGAPE and further developed his skills with various tutors and dedicated self-study. He's passionate about sharing his knowledge and making learning guitar an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

Jordan Pieri
Jordan is an experienced guitarist and bass player with a Cert 3 in Entertainment and some training as a sound engineer. He enjoys writing songs with his drummer mate, Ric Thackeray (check them out on Spotify!)
Drum circle teacher
Chris Leech
Chris Leech has a background in primary school creative arts teaching and a passion for drum circles using genuine Djembie drums. His student groups often learn to compose as well as play.
Paper tole instructor
Barry Waters
Barry Waters has a background as a primary school teacher and a church pastor. He has always been interested in handcrafts and loves creating and teaching paper tole. He has a regular stall at the Cobbitty Markets.

Vocal and clarinet tutor
Kayla Hall
Kayla is a dedicated music educator, performer with a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre) from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts and is currently completing a Master of Teaching at the University of New England. Specialising in clarinet and vocal tuition, Kayla is passionate about creating supportive and engaging lessons tailored to each student’s goals and experience level. She has experience preparing students for AMEB examinations and performance opportunities.

Performance venue hire
Camden Uniting Church auditorium houses a beautiful Yamaha Grand piano and comfortably accommodates approximately 180 people. The venue can be hired for concert performances by community groups and individuals.
AGAPE is also an AMEB Examination Centre for Metropolitan Series 2 piano exams which are held in November / December each year.
Accompanist
Heather Bieman has been the Director and Head Piano Teacher of AGAPE since it was first established in 2004.
She plays for church services, weddings, and funerals and often accompanies young instrumentalists for music examinations.

Master classes
Agape is committed to ensuring the development of local talent within the Macarthur area to a high standard. We do this by providing access and the opportunity to work with elite musicians in their chosen fields. Throughout the year, workshops, seminars and Master Classes are offered in various disciplines.
